"Well, that was easy. No delays holding me back, " he said while gazing out into the open lawn. "This concert is going to awesome, I cannot wait!"
He turned around and saw the stage behind him, knowing that stage would be full of instruments and the chairs all around him would be full of attendance. He glanced over and saw Skips and Pops with flyers in their hands, setting them on telephone posts and on the side walls of the buildings of downtown. The blue jay sighed as the chilly October air brushed against his feathers. Mordecai continued to stare at the lawn, the trees, everything. And then an important memory came rolling back in Memory Lane.
*****
Mordecai wrapped his wings around Margaret, who was standing near a tree. They both blushed and she gave him small pecks on his cheeks. Mordecai couldn't help but blush, still acting like he had a crush on her. It was their first day together, he had to get use to it.
He nervously laughed with butterflies in his stomach, "What was that for?"
"I did that because I love you!" Margaret said as she hugged her boyfriend. "What will I do without you?"
"What would I do without you" The blue avian said while staring her with his eyes.
"Oh Mordecai, you're so sweet!" She replied with a kiss on the beak.
*****
Mordecai sighed as he got up from the chair and threw away the empty water bottle in a dark green trash barrel. He looked back at the tree where him and Margaret kissed and held each other at.
"That tree," he began, "that is where it all started..." He lowered his eyes, along with his head. "How we use to touch and feel on each other. Saying the words, 'I love you!' to each other. I hope it isn't too long before I get to see you again..."
I'll admit I'm wrong if you'd tell me
I'm so sick of fights, I hate them
Lets start this again for real
So here I am I'm trying
So here I am are you ready
So here I am I'm trying
So here I am are you ready
Come on let me hold you, touch you, feel you
Always
Kiss you taste you all night
Always
He closed his eyes and without a word, he walked off to tell Benson that the chairs were now set up. He knew that he wouldn't get another chance with her; she wouldn't trust him after what he had "done" to her. Mordecai knew that he didn't do nothing to her to make her dump him and move on, he wasn't that type of guy. Mordecai was raised very well by his parents, who acted the same way to each other, passing it on to him. What good parents Mordecai had and with mentioning that, Mordecai was glad to have awesome parents.
"Well, maybe tonight's concert will keep me from thinking about this, " The blue jay said while putting his hands in his pockets, walking into the house after reporting to Benson.
