He stopped the cart, looked around and stared ahead, the fountain all dirty looking. Leaves were on the ground around it and were in it, making the water turn a light green color. Mordecai got out of the cart and approached the fountain.
"Aw, sick!" He said as he reached down and picked up a bent empty water bottle. With the bottle held by two fingers, the avian pulled out a black plastic trash bag and put it in there. And now it was time to target the rest of the mess. The cold, green, murky water began to slowly drain, leaving nothing but trash inside the moist fountain. He reached down and grabbed the trash with his hand, picking it up and putting it in the trash bag. Mordecai's face cringed at the touch of slimy water that covered the bottles, soggy paper, leaves, and large amounts of trash that was littered in the fountain.
"Really? Who would just throw this stuff in here? The fountain was meant to be pretty, with clean water! Not green algae infested water with tossed trashed in here." Mordecai ranted, "Some people! Ugghh!"
Mordecai leaned over the fountain and started to scrub the walls of the fountain with a rag. After minutes of scrubbing, he stood up straight and looked at his job that was successful. Then, out of the corner of his eye, he saw a small figure that walked behind a tree. He put down his cleaning supplies and walked over to where the unknown figure was. He moved the small branches of the bush and peeked through, seeing Rigby walking down the sidewalk with a lowered head.
I feel alone and tired
Should I go back should I go back should I
This time I don't want to
Should I go back should I go back should I
I feel alone and tired
Should I go back should I go back should I
I hope I won't forget you
"Should I go back and be friends with Rigby again...?" Mordecai questioned his mind. It wasn't too long before the avian went back to the fountain and grabbed his cleaning supplies, so he could return back to Benson for another assigned chore. A chore that was not as gross as cleaning out a dirty fountain, but not gross at all. Without having the Destroyer of Worlds game stored away in the darkness of the storage building, Mordecai was assigned the job of setting up the chairs for an upcoming concert that Benson and Skips were holding that night; to raise enough money for a Halloween party that was right around the corner.
"Okay, setting up the chairs? Easy. At least I don't have to worry about old school arcade like last time. I guess Benson trusts me to set up the chairs, knowing that I don't have the devious Rigby by my side, " the blue bird thought to himself. He shrugged it off and gathered the chairs and began to set them up, one by one.
